Tips for Dentists Placing One-Piece Dental Implants
1. Take a comprehensive One-Piece Dental Implant Course to learn the procedure, prior to placing and restoring One-Piece Dental Implants.
2. Analyze CBCT to determine appropriate Implant diameter and Length.
3. Under-Prep the Osteotomy in both diameter and length. The Osteotomy should be smaller than the Implant.
3. Be sure to achieve a minimum of torque of 30 to 35 NCM for immediate loading. If the desired torque is not achieved, remove the implant and place a larger diameter implant without further Osteotomy preparation.
3. Fixation of the one-piece implant is important, bond it to adjacent teeth to protect against micro-movement of the implant during Osteointegration.
4. In immediate extraction sites, place grafting material in the remainder of the socket after implant placement.
5. Protect the graft with either a membrane barrier or hemostatic dressing & Temporary restoration. An acryl stent can also be used.
6. remove the implant directly from the packing vial and insert into osteotomy without contacting oral tissues or gloved hands.
7. Oral tissues are contacted, soak the implant in an antibiotic & saline solution before placing into site.
8. Bend flexible implants (indicated for bending) after checking the CBCT for desired placement.
9. Bend flexible implants only once and in only one direction.
10. Do not bend implants that are not indicated for bending.
10. Use a tissue maker to plan the location of implant placement if performing the procedure free hand.
11. Take & Check Post-op CT before closing the surgical site. Reposition Implant if necessary.
12. Use larger diameter implants in sparsely dense bone (type 4 bone).
13. Use Smaller diameter implants in very dense bone (type 1 bone).
14. Place Implants at least 2 mm away from vital structures.
15. Place two one-piece dental implants to replace molars.
16. Use non-bendable implants in the posterior.
